Is Losing 10 lbs Hard or Not? My Ongoing Journey to Shedding Weight by Aug. 10
Hey everyone! Maida here, and today I want to share my ongoing journey of losing 10 lbs. As someone who has been navigating online business since 2000, balancing work, family, and personal health has always been a challenge. So, is losing 10 lbs hard or not? Here’s my take on it so far.
The Motivation
For the longest time, I needed to lose 10 lbs, and now I've found the perfect motivation. I want to join a Jiu-Jitsu tournament in the Master 1 Light Feather bracket this coming August 10 in Cebu, which means I need to be at 113 lbs or 51.2 kg. Turning 51 this September, shedding those 10 lbs means more than just a number on the scale. It’s about losing fat, gaining muscle, and ultimately adding a few more healthier years with my family.
And now, with only 20 days to reach my goal, the challenge is on!
The Challenges
Let’s be honest—losing weight isn’t easy, especially when you’re at my age. Here are some challenges I’m facing:
Sedentary Lifestyle: As an online entrepreneur, I spend a lot of time sitting in front of a computer. Finding time to exercise is tough.
Cravings and Snacking: I love my midnight snacks, but they’re definitely contributing to my weight gain.
Busy Schedule: Balancing work, family, and personal time often means that I put my health last.
The Plan
To tackle these challenges, I’ve come up with a plan:
Intermittent Fasting: I’m trying intermittent fasting with a 16:8 schedule—fasting for 16 hours and eating within an 8-hour window.
Healthy Eating: I’m focusing on eating 50 grams of protein per meal and cutting down on carbs and sugars. It’s hard to say no to my favorite snacks, but I got Slimsnacks and I know exactly what to eat.
Exercise Routine: I’ve committed to practicing jiu-jitsu for two hours, four nights a week at our RMAC gym, and plan to increase it to five times a week. I also incorporate more physical activities into my daily routine, like taking short walks with Savannah and Roy in the morning, plus a lot of stretching.
Slimsnacks: Having Slimsnacks is definitely a huge help. Their healthy and delicious options make sticking to my diet a lot easier.
Water and the right supplements. I always have my water bottle with measurments with me. Wherever I am. And drinking the right vitamins, minerals and supplements will probably aid me to where I want to be.
So, is losing 10 lbs hard or not? For me, it’s a mix of both. The journey has its challenges, but with determination and the right plan, it’s definitely achievable.
Stay tuned to see what happens in the next 20 days as I work towards my goal. Here’s to a healthier and happier life!
